In Lombardy, halfway between Milan – the capital of design, fashion, and finance – and Lake Como with all its beauty, you’ll find the Brianza region, which has always been the historical centre of Italian art furniture. At the centre of Brianza, there’s Cabiate.
This is a little town where way back in 1886, Angelo Cappellini was founded, a company known around the world for its recreation of the most elegant furnishing styles of the past, as well as the modern tone of the Opera collections, defined by a contemporary and sophisticated design. Even centuries ago, the town of Cabiate was a point of reference for the production of high artisan furnishings, offering a number of “workshops”, expert inlayers, and above all master wood carvers and engravers. Among the pioneers in this area, Angelo Cappellini arose at the end of the 19th century, focusing on the combination of artisan care and industry organization – a formula that is still valid to this day.
